From Love Today to Vadhandhi...Here are the upcoming big releases on OTT!

While some movies opted to skip the theatre and release straightly on the top digital platforms, others join the streaming race on various OTTs a few weeks after their theatrical run. The upcoming films are of upon anything, with projects such as the next thriller web series from Pushkar Gayathri (after Suzhal), the return of actor Bharath from a lengthy absence, and a sensational rom-com drama from Pradeep Ranganathan. The following is a list of forthcoming Tamil films that will soon be available on various OTT platforms. 

Love Today

The film reportedly made over 70 crores at the box office in its 25 day theatrical run. Not only did the actor's performance attract a young audience, but so did those of Ivana, Radhika Sarathkumar, Raveena Ravi, Yogi Babu and Sathyaraj as well. The romantic comedy starring the director-turned-actor has become one of the most successful Tamil films of the year 2022. The film's editing by Pradeep E. Ragav and cinematography by Dinesh Purushothaman also received high marks from reviewers and audiences alike.

The crime thriller Miral, directed by M. Sakthivel and starring Bharath and Vani Bhojan, released in theatres on November 11. At its premiere, it received a mixed response from both critics and viewers. Notable roles were played by KS Ravikumar, Meera Krishnan, and Rajkumar, among others. Miral, produced by Axess Film Factory, had Suresh Bala as its cinematographer and R Kalaivanan as its editor. SN Prasad has composed an exciting score, and Danger Mani directs the action.

The plot of the movie is about an unknown person who hurts a family of three while they are travelling to Chennai. The rest of the plot centres on the family's deals to his torture. 

Nitham Oru Vaanam 

OTT Release Date: December 2                                                                                                                    OTT Platform : Netflix 

Nitham Oru Vaanam, directed by a debut filmmaker, Ra. Karthik and starred by Ashok Selvan, premiered in theatres on November 4 to positive reviews and a solid opening weekend. The film boasts an all-star cast, including Ritu Varma, Aparna Balamurali, and Shivathmika Rajashekar in the leading roles. The film was shot and edited by idhu Ayyanna and Anthony, respectively; Gopi Sundar provided the score.

The narrative centres on the three stages that can be identified in the life of an introvert. The rest of the story focuses on the various challenges he faces while travelling and how he manages to overcome them.

Andrew Louis, whose previous film Kolaigaran starred Vijay Antony and Arjun Sarja, directed the Vadhandhi web series, which stars SJ Surya. Vadhandhi - The Fable of Velonie is the latest mind-bending thriller from the winning team behind Vikram Vedha (starring R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupati), Suzhal - The Vortex (an Amazon Original series), and the Hindi remake (of Vikram Vedha) starring Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan. The series stars an impressive ensemble cast, including Laila, M. Nasser, Vivek Prasanna, Kumaran, and Smruthi Venkat, with Sanjana playing the title role of Velonie.

Vivek, a fine police officer, is in charge of the investigation into the death of Velonie, a young girl. To solve the case, Vivek has to sort through a maze of half-truths and confusing clues that could ruin Velonie's reputation forever because of the rumours that started after she died.
