Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming film Maaveeran has been in the news for various reasons. The film, directed by Madonne Ashwin, is a political satire that features Aditi Shankar as the female lead. The film also has a stellar supporting cast, including Mysskin, Yogi Babu, Sunil and Saritha. The film is slated to hit the screens tomorrow on July 14th, amid high expectations from the fans.

However, the film also faced a legal hurdle when a political party named Indhiya Jananayaga Katchi (IJK) filed a case in the Madras High Court, alleging that the film had used its flag without permission. The party claimed that the flag was shown in a derogatory manner and demanded that the film should be banned or the flag should be changed.

The Madras High Court on Wednesday, diligently presided over the case and delivered an order that refrained from imposing a ban on the film. Instead, the honorable court mandated the producers to incorporate a concise 40-second disclaimer at the commencement of the film, explicitly indicating its fictional nature and unequivocal intention to refrain from causing any offense to the sentiments or beliefs of individuals or groups.

Additionally, the court directed the meticulous editing of the footage to either remove or modify the depiction of the IJK party flag prior to the film's release on OTT platforms and satellite channels. The film crew welcomed the court’s order and expressed their gratitude to the judiciary for clearing the way for the  release of the film, as per announced.

They also assured that they would comply with the court’s directions and make the necessary changes. The film’s music director Bharath Shankar thanked the fans for their support and said that he was looking forward to their feedback on his songs.

Maaveeran is expected to be a hilarious and hard-hitting take on the current political scenario in Tamil Nadu. The film has also generated curiosity among the audience as it has a voice-over by Vijay Sethupathi for a crucial character in the film. The trailer of the film, which was released last month, received positive reviews from the critics and viewers alike. Maaveeran is produced by Shanthi Talkies. The film will be distributed by Red Giant Movies.
