From Madhavan to Aamir Khan...Famous people who tested COVID-19 positive recently!

India has on Wednesday marked its first anniversary of the Nationwide Lockdown, which was an unprecedented experiment that the Center had used as weaponry to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. Though the country had steered through multiple episodes of lockdown and the massive roll-out of the COVID-19 vaccination programme, India has been witnessing a second wave of the virus spread after a sharp decline. 

For the past few days, India has been reporting a steady surge in fresh cases of the pandemic. In the last 24 hours till Thursday morning at 8 am, India has reported over 50,000 cases, the highest spike for this year and the highest rise since November 6. The pandemic has been affecting some of the famous people through its resurgence. Let's take a look at some of the famous people who had tested positive for COVID-19 recently,

Aamir Khan: The top Bollywood star has on Wednesday confirmed to have contracted the viral infection. After getting tested positive, he had asked the people who had come in close contact to get tested for COVID-19. The actor's spokesperson said that 56-year-old Aamir Khan has been observing home quarantine. 

In a statement, the actor's spokesperson said, "Mr. Aamir Khan has tested positive for COVID-19. He is at home in self-quarantine, following all the protocols and he's going fine. All those who came in contact with him in the recent past should get themselves tested as a precautionary measure. Thank you for all your wishes and concern". 

Madhavan: Versatile actor R Madhavan had on Thursday tested positive for the viral infection, a day after his '3 idiots' peer had tested positive. Stepping away from a typical announcement, Madhavan had said that he had contracted the viral infection in a way that he enjoyed having his favorite dinner. Madhavan took to Twitter and used the movie '3 idiots' as a reference that he had tested positive. 

3 idiots is one of the everlasting movies starred by Aamir Khan and Madhavan. In the movie, Aamir Khan and Madhavan played the roles of two best friends Rancho and Farhan respectively, studying in an engineering college. They had named their college dean as Virus in the film. As Madhavan had tested positive for COVID-19 a day after Aamir Khan does, he had taken to Twitter and said, "Farhan has to follow Rancho and Virus has always been after us But this time, he bloody caught up. But All is Well and the Covid will be in the well soon. Though this is one place we don't want Raju in. Thank you for all the love. I am recuperating well". 

Imran Khan: Becoming the first world leader to test positive for the COVID-19 viral infection, Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan has on last Saturday tested positive for the pandemic. He had confirmed to have contracted the viral infection exactly two days after taking the vaccine shot. The Prime Minister was self-isolating at home. The Prime Minister's Special Assistant on National Health Services, Regulations Dr. Sultan took to Twitter and confirmed that Imran Khan has contracted the viral infection. Khan's spokesman Dr. Shehbaz Gill said that the Prime Minister has a fever and cough.

On March 18, the Prime Minister was administered the first dose of Sinopharm vaccine, the only available COVID-19 vaccine in Pakistan and he was vaccinated as part of the nationwide vaccination campaign, which is underway in its second phase. The Sinopharm vaccine is developed by China and Pakistan has recently received the second consignment of the vaccine from what was the epicenter of the global pandemic.

Om Birla: Recently, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla had confirmed to have contracted the viral infection, becoming one of the dozens of Indian politicians infected by the pandemic. After testing positive, he was taken to AIIMS Covid center in Delhi and he has been getting treated at the facility since March 20. Earlier, the hospital had issued a statement concerning his health in which it has asserted that Om Birla is doing stable and his parameters are normal. 

Kartik Aaryan: Young Bollywood star Kartik Aaryan, who rose to fame through his 2018 starred 'Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety', has recently tested positive for the COVID-19 viral infection. He took to Instagram and said that he had contracted the infection and requested his fans to pray for his speedy recovery. After Aaryan had tested positive, TV actress Hina Khan had taken the COVID-19 test. 

Recently, Hina Khan had attended Manish Malhotra's Lakme Fashion Week show which was also attended by Aaryan and Kiara Advani. On Wednesday, Hina went live on her Instagram account to share her medical report and thanked her fans for their constant support. The actress said that she had tested negative for the global pandemic.
