Major setback for Vijay's 'Beast': Why the shooting was stopped?

Thalapathy Vijay has currently been in the outing of 'Beast', which is helmed by Nelson Dilipkumar. It is the first time that both of them joined hands with each other and the shooting had been taking place at a steady pace. While the movie team had completed the initial schedules of shooting in various places including Georgia and Delhi, the team is currently camped in Chennai to complete the remaining schedules.

As the shooting was underway in the city, the movie team had braced up a major setback due to the historical rainfall in Chennai. According to reports, the shooting was taking place in Chennai and the team had installed a replica of the popular shopping mall in the city for the shooting. The heavy downpour, which lasted for several days, had inundated most parts of the city and caused massive disruption to daily lives.

The government and the Greater Chennai Corporation had deployed measures to rescue and evacuate the affected people. The incessant rainfall had put the city's life in a lurch and several establishments had shut down. Hundreds of thousands of residences were waterlogged and lakhs of people were out of electricity. Heavy rains had blanketed the busy roads and subway. The reports say that the rainwater had entered the 'shopping mall' movie set of Beast.

Though there have been no major damages to the set, it was waterlogged by the rainwater due to which the movie team has stopped the shooting temporarily. The team has been carrying out the measures to pump out the water from the set and it is expected that the shooting will resume in the coming days. The cinema industry didn't escape the disruption as in line with the Beast, several such shootings have also been affected.

Beast is been made as an action film and brings in an ensemble cast. Bankrolled by Kalanithi Maran under the banner of Sun Pictures, the movie is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. While Vijay plays in the lead role, Pooja Hegde, Selvaraghavan, Yogi Babu, Shine Tom Chacko, John Vijay, VTV Ganesh, Aparna Das, and Sathish Krishnan had played important roles. Anirudh has composed the music and while it was speculated that the movie will hit the screens during the Pongal 2022 in a clash with Ajith's Valimai, it is less likely that Beast will be ready to serve during the Pongal holidays.
