In a surprising turn of events, acclaimed Malayalam film director Alphonse Puthren, renowned for his movies like  Neram, Premam and Gold, has taken an indefinite break from the film industry citing health reasons. Although the authenticity of this announcement, made through a now-deleted post on his social media, remains unverified, it has sent ripples of concern and curiosity through his fan base.

In the post, which is circling on social media,  Alphonse revealed his struggle with Autism Spectrum Disorder, a personal revelation that took the film community by surprise. He expressed his intention to step away from cinema theaters, citing his health condition and a desire not to burden others. Despite his hiatus from mainstream cinema, he vowed to continue his creative journey, focusing on music videos, short films, and content for streaming platforms.

The post read, "I'm stopping my Cinema Theater Career. I have Autism Spectrum Disorder which I found out yesterday on my own. I don't want to be a burden to anyone else. I will continue doing songs and videos and short films and maximum an OTT. I don’t want to quit Cinema, but I have no other option. I don't want to make promises that I can’t keep. When health is weak or unpredictable life brings a twist like an Interval Punch "
