Mani Ratnam's magnum opus 'Ponniyin Selvan' title poster is here...What it reveals?

The title poster of Mani Ratnam's magnum opus 'Ponniyin Selvan' was released on Monday, which has sparked more anticipations for the movie which would become a career-breaking film for the legendary director. The title poster has been going viral and revealed that the movie comes in two parts. The movie is based on Kalki's popular Tamil novel of the same name 'Ponniyin Selvan' and it features a prominent casting of the star icons of South India. 

The poster features a mega sword and a shield etched with the head of a roaring tiger, which is the symbol of the Chola kingdom. The poster vividly reveals that the movie will be an iconic historical drama. The movie is bankrolled by Subaskaran under the banner of Lyca productions and the production house took to Twitter and released the poster. Captioning the poster, it wrote, "The golden era comes to life!". It has been reported that the movie will be released in two parts in 2022.

Along with Lyca productions, Mani Ratnam will also be producing the movie under his own banner Madras Talkies besides directing the movie. Kalki's novel was published in 1955 and according to reports close to the developments, the film has resumed the shooting in Puducherry recently after it was halted in light of the second wave of the pandemic. After completing the shooting schedule in Puducherry, the movie team will travel to Hyderabad. 

Ponniyin Selvan will feature an iconic cast including Vikram, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Jayaram, Prabhu, Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, and Aishwarya Lekshmi. Oscar-winning music director AR Rahman will be composing the music and Ravi Varman will be taking care of cinematography. The movie will be edited by Sreekar Prasad. The reports say that Ponniyin Selvan has Brinda Master on board as the choreographer while Sham Kaushal will be taking care of the action sequences.
