Maoist in Tamil Nadu detained under the National Security Act!

The district collector of Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu has booked the arrested Maoist under the grounds of the National Security Act on Friday, about ten days after he was arrested.

It has been reported that the team of the Special Task Force had arrested Maoist Deepak on November 9th at Sembukkarai - Perumalmudi reserved forest range and he was reportedly left with severe injuries after he fell into a canyon in the range while attempting to evade from the detention.

After being taken into custody, he was admitted to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital for injuries since the arrest and with accord to the complaint filed by the Special Task Force, Thadagam police department has registered a case against him for allegedly trying to wage a war against the Indian government. On Friday, district collector Rajamani has directed the authorities to book Maoist Deepak under National Security.

The reports say that Deepak was imprisoned at the high-security block of Coimbatore Central Prison and the police team has seized weapons from him and he was also booked under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act. Maoist Deepak is believed to the Central Committee member of the People's Liberation of Guerrilla Army.
