As the shooting of Vijay's next, which has been tentatively named Thalapathy 66, is underway, the updates from the makers imply that the movie is becoming a galaxy of big stars as the prominent veterans are being roped into the project, which has been touted to be a family entertainer.
The shooting has been taking place in Hyderabad and the team has planned to slate the move's release during the Pongal 2023. It's Vijay's first outing with Telugu director Vamsi Paidipally, who is helming this project while popular producer Dil Raju takes charge of bankrolling it. As the shooting progresses at a steady pace, the movie team has been unveiling updates about the latest entrants to the project.
On Tuesday- May 10, the movie team has officially announced that Yogi Babu has been roped into Thalapathy 66. Through the induction, Yogi Babu is all set to join hands with Vijay for the fifth time as they have become a popular actor-comedian duo across and beyond Kollywood. Earlier, Yogi Babu had acted with Vijay in the movies 'Mersal', 'Sarkar', 'Bigil', and 'Beast'.
On Monday, Vijay's picture from Thalapathy 66 was released and took social media by storm. While Vamsi Paidipally directs the movie, Thaman has been composing the music and Dil Raju produces under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations. Thalapathy 66 has been packed with an ensemble cast and while Vijay plays the lead role, Rashmika Mandanna plays the female lead, and Prakash Raj, Sarathkumar, Prabhu, Shaam, Yogi Babu, Srikanth, Jayasudha, Sangeetha, and Samyuktha play important roles.
