Meet Mahendran: A Rajini fan in TN who voted for the first time in 30 years...Do you know why he didn't vote for 30 years?

When Superstar Rajinikanth closed his gate for politics, it was a huge shock for Mahendran, who was one among the thousands of ardent fans who hoped to welcome their favourite actor into active politics. While the fans had a slew of expectations from Rajinikanth, Mahendran had a unique plan, of course, a desperate aim in his mind. As the superstar cleared the clouds of politics around him, Mahendran too has cleared what had been a peculiar aim.

Mahendran, who is a native of the Pudukottai district in Tamil Nadu, has an aim that his first vote should be for Rajinikanth. With his peculiar aim, Mahendran didn't vote for the past thirty years. He had made his mind that his favourite star would come to politics and win his vote. However, Rajini's decision of not entering politics had made Mahendran's hope vain. Mahendran didn't cast his vote even during the 2021 assembly polls.

His determination to cast his first vote for Rajinikanth was in a fashion that he didn't even vote for his wife when she contested in an election. The actor's decision had disappointed Mahendran and for the first time in thirty years, he has come to the polling station on Saturday -February 19 to cast his vote in the ongoing Tamil Nadu urban local body polls.

According to reports, Mahendran had cast his first vote in thirty years at the polling station installed at Rajagopalapuram Municipal High School in Pudukottai, which is the polling station for the 22nd ward of the district. The visuals of Mahendran casting his vote have been going viral. The crucial local body polls in Tamil Nadu are underway as the people are casting their votes to elect the captains to run the local government institutions in urban areas.
