Modi's phone call to MK Stalin - Here's what they discussed!

Ever since India has brought under the unprecedented nationwide lockdown to curb the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in its territory, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been reaching out to the people of various channels and backgrounds to strengthen the measures and awareness across the nation to counter the virus. 

Earlier, he had held video-conference meetings with the notable sportspersons in the country, social welfare departments, community-based organizations, medical and frontline team, and the Chief Ministers regarding the nation's task of combating the spread of the global pandemic, that has now affected 3,374 people and claimed 77 lives across the country so far.

In line with that, the Prime Minister will be convening all political parties meeting on April 8th to hold discussions with the national and regional parties to discuss the developments. On Sunday, Modi has directly dialed to various leaders and called for the all-party meeting. According to the reports, he has reached to former Presidents Pranab Mukherjee, Pratibha Patil and discussed the issues related to COVID-19. 

Modi has spoken to former Prime Ministers Manmohan Singh and Deva Gowda and called various leaders including Sonia Gandhi, Mulayam Singh, Akhilesh Yadav, Mamta Banerjee, K Chandrasekara Rao, Prakash Singh Badal, and Naveen Patnaik. He also has spoken with DMK President MK Stalin concerning the same. The DMK has released a statement in which it has said that the Prime Minister has reached out to MK Stalin on Sunday morning.

It stated that Modi had conveyed his regards to Stalin's family and called on the party to participate in the all-party meeting on April 8 to discuss the COVID-19 issues and developments. The Tamil Nadu's opposition party further stated that the party's Lok Sabha leader and MP TR Baalu would be attending the meet to represent the party and the party asserted that it will provide constructive suggestions to the Central government to address and fix the health crisis.

DMK President has asked the Prime Minister that the Central government must be fortifying each Indian for which Modi vowed that the government has been working carefully. According to the DMK's statement, Union Home Minister has also spoken with Stalin and conveyed his regards.
