More tension for Shah Rukh Khan: No bail for his son Aryan! Here's his prison schedule

Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan has been bracing up more tension as the Mumbai Court has on Friday denied bail for his 23-year-old son Aryan Khan, who has been accused in a drugs case. Aryan Khan was arrested by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) last Sunday along with eight others, following the raid conducted by the anti-drug agency at a rave party that was taking place on board Cordelia Cruise ship, that was en route to Goa from Mumbai.

Aryan Khan's counsel Satish Manshinde had moved the bail petition before a Magistrate court in Mumbai on Thursday. The petition came up for hearing on Friday and after the arguments placed by lawyers representing the accused, Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh had placed his response during which he said, "Everyone is arguing as if we are opposing their right to claim bail. I am opposing their right to claim bail in this court. I am challenging the maintainability of their petition."

Anil Singh said, "Here is a case where there is an involvement of 17 persons. Their connections, involvement, etc are there and the investigation is at a preliminary stage. There will be interfering with witnesses. They are influential persons and there is a chance of tampering with evidence. Had it been one person found with a small quantity it would be different. We have got a lot of material during the investigation. Protection like bail at this stage will hamper the investigation."

In his closing argument, Aryan Khan said through his counsel, "I am a 23-year-old with no prior antecedents. I am from a respectable family, my parents, siblings are here. I hold an Indian passport and I have roots in society, cannot abscond. There is no question of tampering with evidence or accused. The electronic evidence is taken, the other accused are in custody." His counsel has said that no banned substance was recovered from Aryan Khan and that he was simply attending the bash as a VVIP invitee.

After the hearing, the Magistrate Court Justice RM Nerlikar had denied bail for Aryan Khan and others by stating that the plea is not maintainable. As there were seizures of drugs in the case, the court has ruled out his bail petition as non-maintainability.  According to reports, Aryan Khan will now have to approach the Sessions Court for bail and the son of Shah Rukh Khan has on Thursday awarded judicial custody for 14 days. Aryan Khan has been kept in a quarantine cell of Mumbai's Arthur Road jail. Though all the accused had tested negative for the Covid-19 pandemic, the new accused should be kept in the quarantine cell for seven days as per the new prison guidelines.

However, as per his prison schedule, Aryan Khan will be lodged in barrack number one of the Arthur Road jail and no high treatments will be given to him. Aryan Khan will be treated like other inmates and will be following the prison manuals and will have to wake up at 6 am. Until a court order comes through, Aryan Khan will only be served with food cooked in the prison and not from the home. However, they can buy food from the canteen by paying extra money.

Initially, the Mumbai Court had given custody till October 7 for Aryan Khan and other accused under the NCB. As the custody came to an end on Thursday, he was produced before the Magistrate court and his custody was increased to 14 days and the court directed the authorities to lodge the accused under judicial custody. Last Sunday, all eight were arrested after the anti-drugs agency went undercover and raided a rave party on Saturday evening on the cruise ship. The anti-drugs bureau said that the raids had produced a haul of 13 grams of cocaine, 21 grams of charas, 22 pills of MDMA, and 5 grams of MD drugs.
