'Motta Shiva Ketta Shiva' music director got arrested by Chennai police: Here's what happened!

Chennai Police had on Tuesday arrested Tamil music director Amrish Ganesh for cheating a Chennai-based businessman. The actor has been accused of embezzling money by giving a fake promise to the businessman. The actor has been taken into judicial custody for further investigations. 

Amrish Ganesh is the son of reputed Tamil actress Jayachitra and he has acted in some Tamil movies and has composed songs. Ganesh was arrested on Tuesday and booked under the grouds of cheating 68-year-old Nedumaran, a businessman based in Valasaravakkam in Chennai. 32-yeard-old Amrish has promised Nedumaran to provide a temple kalasam (an ornamental object kept on top of the temple) made up of iridium that could attract rice. 

Amrish and his friends had taken money from Nedumaran. However, they had failed to keep the promise and accused of embezzling the money. After knowing the conspiracy, Nedumaran had lodged a complaint with the Office of Commissioner of Police in Chennai and the case has gone to the desk of the Central Crime Branch (CCB).

The CCB had registered a case against Amrish and his friends and arrested the actor on Tuesday. Amrish was then produced before a local court after which he was sent to judicial custody for further investigations. The actor has been accused of cheating Rs 26.2 crore from the businessman. 

As the son of Jayachitra, Amrish had appeared as an actor in his mother's productions Pudhiya Raagam (1991) and then in Naane Ennul Illai (2010) before working as a music composer in the late 2010s. He had composed music for the movies such as 'Motta Siva Ketta Siva', 'Baskar Oru Rascal', and 'Charlie Chaplin 2'. Besides composing music for these movies, he also has sung songs.
