From Mounam Pesiyadhe Sandhya to Maniratnam's Kundhavai! Trisha completes 20 years of film journey...

South queen Trisha Krishnan made her debut in the cinema, playing an unknown role in Jodi, and Trisha became the female lead in Ameer's Mounam Pesiyadhe. Today December 13 marks the release day of Mounam Pesiyadhe and today is the day when the Trisha wave started in Tamilnadu twenty years ago. Fans are making social media storm by celebrating the '20 years of Trishaism'. Mounam Pesiyadhe starred Suriya in the lead role, where Trisha played the role Sandhya. The film was released on 13 December 2002.

Her official debut was supposed to be in Priyadarshan's Lesa Lesa, but the film's release was delayed, so her first starring role wasn't until Ameer's Mounam Pesiyadhe in 2002. Her subsequent film with Vikram, Saamy, brought her to the forefront; she subsequently chaired the excellence of a slew of other films, including Alai, 'Enakku 20 Unakku 18,' Ghilli, and Aayutha Ezhuthu, her first collaboration with acclaimed director Maniratnam, in which she played Meera opposite Sidharth.

Trisha, who is fondly called the Queen of Hearts by her fan, made Kollywood to remember her name with some stunning performances in her first Hindi debut Khatta Meetha, Gautham Menon's Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya, Abhiyum Naanum, Mankatha, Yennai Arindhaal, 96, and the recent blockbuster Ponniyin Selvan, where she played the princess Kundhavai. She is having the next,  Sathuranga Vettai 2, The Road, and the second part of Ponniyin Selvan in the pipeline, and her first web series debut, Brindha,

She even played the opposite with two iconic heads of Tamil cinema: Superstar Rajinikanth, and Ulaganayagan Kamal Hassan in Petta and Manmadhan Ambu, respectively, and made her Malayalam debut with Hey Jude in 2018, where she played along with Nivin Pauly. And her second Malayalam debut is with Mohanlal, whose production of Ram: Part 1 is currently underway.

According to a leading media portal, the estimated net worth of the actor is around USD 10 million. Which is around Rs. 80-90 crore. Trisha has also bagged several famous awards, and she has won the Filmfare award for Best Actress five times (3 times in Telugu, and 2 times in Tamil). Trisha, who has been a leading actress in the South Indian film industry for over 20 years and is affectionately known as the "Queen of South India," proved that she is still a major player in the business.
