'My dear friend must roar back as the Captain': Rajinikanth wishes a speedy recovery to Vijayakanth!

As veteran actor-turned-politician Vijayakanth has sustained a health setback and has undergone surgery in Chennai, superstar Rajinikanth has wished the former a speedy recovery. 69-year-old Vijayakanth has recently got admitted to MIOT Hospitals in Chennai and his party DMDK has initially said that he has been admitted for a usual medical check-up. 

On Tuesday- June 21, DMDK said that Vijayakanth has undergone surgery on his toes and that the veteran politician has been suffering from diabetes and due to poor blood circulation, three of his toes have been removed through surgery, which was done on Monday. Diabetes had caused blood to flow in an irregular fashion to Vijayakanth's toes, necessitating the amputation. 

The party has said that he has been doing stable and his health is been monitored carefully. Vijayakanth would be in hospital for two more days after which he would be discharged. In the statement, the party has appealed to the leaders, cadres, supporters, and public not to believe rumours that were being spread on social media concerning Vijayakanth's health. 

Hundreds of thousands of fans have been wishing the legendary actor a speedy recovery. In line with that, Superstar Rajinikanth has expressed his wishes and prayers and said that Vijayakanth must roar back as the Captain. Taking to Twitter, Rajinikanth wrote, "I pray to God that my dear friend Vijayakanth must have a speedy recovery and roar back as the Captain."
