Popular Tamil actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar had a blessed day on Wednesday- August 31 when she surprisedly crossed paths with actor Vijay on a plane. Vijay was en route to Hyderabad for his ongoing project Varisu helmed by Vamsi Paidipally while Varalaxmi just happened to board the same flight. As Thalapathy Vijay was next to her, the ardent fangirl in Varalaxmi hopped out and clicked selfies.

Sharing the pictures on her Twitter handle, Varalaxmi wrote, "Never had such a good flight to hyd...haha my favoriteeeeee Thalapathy Vijay right next to me...whaatteew day...Thank u Jagadish heheheh...so much fun...ludo...laughter...chit chat...perfect flight...perfect day." The pictures of Vijay have been going super viral and it is pertinent to note that they appeared on screen together only once in the 2018 film 'Sarkar'.

Interestingly, Vijay is now starring alongside Varalaxmi's father Sarathkumar in the movie Varisu. While Vijay plays the lead role, Rashmika Mandanna is the leading lady. Prakash Raj, Sarathkumar, Jayasudha, Sangeetha, Yogi Babu, Srikanth, Shaam, and Khushbu play important roles. Varisu is bankrolled by Dil Raju under his banner Sri Venkateswara Creations and Thaman is composing the music.

The movie has been slated for a theatrical release during Pongal 2023. Recently, it has been reported that for the first time in eight years, Vijay's Varisu and Ajith's 'AK 61' are going to clash during Pongal 2023. Eight years ago, at Pongal 2014, Vijay's Jilla and Ajith's Veeram engaged in combat and that was the last clash. Since that time, the movies of both the stars have been evading the clash and are getting released on various occasions.

After a long hiatus, the time has seemingly come for the giants to meet for yet another time. As per the speculations, their movies will square off in the theatres during Pongal 2023. While Varisu is already locked and loaded for the Pongal release, Ajith's AK61 is left swinging for the official release date as the makers are tight-lipped about updates of the movie and they are yet to unveil the first look and title.

According to recent reports on social media, the AK61 crew planned a 21-day shoot in Bangkok that will officially wind up by the end of September. Earlier, it was buzzed that AK61 would get released during Diwali 2022. However, the no-promising update from the camp had deferred the release and it has now been reported that AK61 will also be targeting the 2023 Pongal release.
