One crore vaccine doses in one day...India records a tremendous milestone in Covid-19 vaccination!

In what has become a tremendous milestone in its Covid-19 vaccination drive, India has on Friday administered more than one crore Covid-19 vaccine doses, which had recorded as the highest single-day vaccination ever in the country. The feat puts India into a major leap in its campaign to beat the pandemic. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised everyone involved in this historical feat. 

Taking to Twitter, the Prime Minister wrote, "Record vaccination numbers today! Crossing 1 crore is a momentous feat. Kudos to those getting vaccinated and those making the vaccination drive a success." Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said, "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas. This is the same effort by which the country has crossed the figure of more than 1 crore vaccines in one day. This is the result of tireless work of health workers and PM Narendra Modi."

BJP National President JP Nadda took to Twitter and wrote, "Highest Number of Vaccination in a day. India has administered more than 1 crore vaccines today. Kudos to health workers & citizens for making this Largest & Fastest Vaccination Drive, a success. Under the leadership of @narendramodi Ji, India is fighting firmly against COVID". According to the Union Health Ministry, 1,03,35,290 vaccine doses were administered on Friday. A total of 30,85,06,160 people in the age group of 18-44 years have received vaccine doses while 23,98,99,849 beneficiaries in the age group of over 45 years have received vaccine shots.

CoWIN portal has reported that the Covid-19 vaccination coverage in the country has crossed 62,29,89,134 doses so far as of Friday. The health ministry has said India has reported 46,759 new Covid-19 cases, 31,374 recoveries, and 509 deaths in the last 24 hours till 8 am on Saturday. Overall, India has recorded 3,26,49,947 cases so far of which 3,59,775 are active, 3,18,52,802 have been discharged, and 4,37,370 people had succumbed to the viral infection. 

India has begun its Covid-19 vaccination drive earlier this January and the country has concentrated on vaccinating the frontline workers at an initial stage and the drive has been progressing gradually and currently, the nation is vaccinating people over 18 years and preparing to vaccinate people over 12 years by next month. India has six Covid-19 vaccines in its territory and the vaccination feat has come when the country has been surfaced with warnings to brace up the third wave of the pandemic which may hit its peak in October. Several Union Ministers had welcomed the feat and said that the country has put vaccine hesitancy into rest.
