PM Narendra Modi's aunt passes away while battling COVID-19!

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's aunt has passed away on Tuesday at the age of 80 in Ahmedabad while she was battling the COVID-19 viral infection. Modi's aunt Narmadaben Modi was living in the New Ranip area in the city with her children. 

She had tested positive for the novel coronavirus recently and was getting treated at the civil hospital in Ahmedabad in the Prime Minister's home state of Gujarat. Amid the treatment, she has breathed her last on Tuesday at the age of 80. PTI reported the news of her demise. 

Taking to Twitter, PTI wrote, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi's aunt Narmadaben Modi, who was undergoing treatment for coronavirus infection, dies at a hospital in Ahmedabad". Prime Minister Narendra Modi's brother had also confirmed the demise of his aunt. 

Modi's brother Prahlad Modi said, "Our aunt Narmadaben was admitted to the civil hospital some ten days ago after her condition deteriorated following coronavirus infection". "She breathed her last at the hospital today", Prahlad Modi told PTI. Narmadaben was the wife of Jagjivandas, who was the brother of the Prime Minister's father Damodardas. Prahlad Modi said that Jagjivandas had died many years ago.
