'Ponni Nadhi' is Vijay's current favourite song...A popular actor reveals in Ponniyin Selvan press meet!

The cinephiles across and beyond the borders are eagerly waiting to relish watching iconic Ponniyin Selvan on the big screens and from top celebrities to the people living in the nook and corner, who wouldn't be a fan of this magnum opus from Mani Ratnam and for the spectacular background score from A R Rahman? Among the millions is Tamil Cinema's top actor Vijay and the latest revelation suggests that the actor may enjoy the movie with the fans in the theatres. 

Ponniyin Selvan is two days ahead to hit the big screens and the imperial casts have finished their grand promotion tours across the nation from Trivandrum to Delhi. In the latest press meeting, popular actor Sarathkumar, who plays a crucial role in the epic periodic drama, revealed that 'Ponni Nadhi' from Ponniyin Selvan is the current favourite song for actor Vijay. 

Sarathkumar is also acting alongside Vijay in the movie 'Varisu' helmed by Tollywood director Vamshi Paidapally and addressing the press meeting, Sarathkumar said Vijay hums the Ponni Nadhi song in the Varisu movie set as it has become his current favourite. His speech has been going viral on social media and Sarathkumar further said that Vijay's Varisu will be a grand film, similar to Ponniyin Selvan. 

Tweeple and Vijay fans have been firing with tweets and recalled that Vijay was chosen for the role of Vandhiyethevan in Mani Ratnam's initial casting for Ponniyin Selvan in 2010-11. The role is currently played by Karthi and the movie is consist of two parts. The first part will get released on September 30 and it has brought an ensemble cast to form a galaxy of stars.

While Vikram, Jayam Ravi, and Karthi play lead roles, Trisha, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan feature in important roles along with Prabhu, Vikram Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Parthiban, and Nizhalgal Ravi. Sarathkumar plays the role of 'Periya Pazhuvettarayar' and during the press meet, he shared many facts and experiences from the sets and about the adaptation of the Chola world. 

While Ponniyin Selvan is bankrolled by Subaskaran's Lyca Productions and Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies, the music is composed by A R Rahman. On the other hand, Vijay's Varisu is produced by Dil Raju and Sirish under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations. While Vijay plays the lead role, Rashmika Mandanna plays the female lead and the movie is scheduled to be released in the theatres in January 2023, during the occasion of Pongal.
