The wait is finally over for the fans of Mani Ratnam’s historical drama franchise Ponniyin Selvan. The second instalment of the epic saga, starring Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, is all set to hit the screens tomorrow, April 28, 2023.

However, there is a slight disappointment for the die-hard fans who were hoping to catch the first day first show (FDFS) of the film at early morning hours. The Tamil Nadu government has not granted permission for special shows in the state, and the FDFS will start at 9 a.m. only. According to the film crew, the early morning show of Ponniyin Selvan 2 will be held at 04:00 am in other states. But, this will not happen in Tamil Nadu and the reason is unknown.

Ponniyin Selvan 2 is one of the most anticipated films of 2023, as it continues the story of Arulmozhi Varman’s journey to become Rajaraja I, the greatest ruler of the historic Chola empire of south India. The film’s trailer and audio launch event were held recently and received a massive response from the audience and critics alike.

The film’s music is composed by A.R. Rahman, who has delivered some soulful and majestic tracks for the film, and fans shown over the moon hailing. The film’s advance booking has also opened and it has already grossed Rs 11 crores within just two days, selling more than 50 thousand tickets.

The film is expected to break many box office records and create history. The film will also release in Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu, and Hindi languages across India and abroad. Ponniyin Selvan 2 is a must-watch for all the fans of Indian cinema and history.
