Following in the footsteps of Dhanush in Hollywood, Shruti Hassan, a versatile singer and actress, will make her American film debut in the upcoming international feature film "The Eye." The popular actress has been roped in to act in this thriller that would be directed by Daphne Schmon and Emily Carlton. Playing opposite Mark Rowley, who is best known for his role in 'The Last Kingdom', Shruti Haasan will appear as a young widow.
Shruti wrote on Instagram after sharing the news,"Super stoked to be a part of 'The Eye' with the loveliest team!!!". The main character of the story is a young widow who returns to the island where her husband passed away to scatter his ashes. After discovering the potential cause of his death, she is tempted to make a dark decision that might bring him back.
Set in the backdrop of the 1980s, the film has Anna Savva, Linda Marlowe, and Christos Stergioglou in the cast crew. According to the actress' shared post, Shruti has already started filming in Athens and Corfu. She has previously appeared in the American television series "Treadstone," which is set in the same world as Matt Damon's "Bourne" film series.
She has also lent her voice as a dubbing artist for the international audio film Sandman: Act 3. She further wrote about this exciting project on her Instagram page, "Storytelling is my fave thing in this whole world and to be a part of this one is pure @daphneschmon and @emilycarltoncarlton @melanie_dicks2 Thank you for making me a part of this!!."

Ok bye", she added. The project has begun its production and the filming for the movie will begin in Corfu and Athens in Greece later this month. The biggest and most reputable production company in Greece, Argonauts productions, is collaborating on the psychological thriller with Fingerprint Content.
