Popular Bollywood actor passes away at 58! Celebrities pay tribute

In a shocking development, popular Bollywood actor Rajiv Kapoor has passed away on Tuesday at the age of 58 in Mumbai due to cardiac arrest. The deceased actor was part of the Kapoor clan and the news of his demise had disturbed thousands across and beyond the borders and they have been expressing condolences to the family members of the deceased. 

Rajiv Kapoor was the younger brother of Rishi Kapoor and Randhir Kapoor. He suffered a massive cardiac arrest following which Randhir Kapoor rushed him to Inlaks Hospital, which is close to his residence. He was rushed to the hospital in the morning hours of Tuesday. However, the doctors had declared him brought dead. Speaking to a news agency, Randhir Kapoor said, "I have lost my youngest brother, Rajiv. He is no more". 

Rajiv's sister-in-law Neetu Kapoor has posted a photo of the actor on social media and wrote 'RIP'. Rajiv Kapoor, who was the youngest son of the legendary actor Raj Kapoor, was also a director and film producer. 

He was part of Kapoor's family that has a strong root in Bollywood from acting to producing movies. Rajiv Kapoor made his debut in Bollywood with the 1983 film 'Ek Jaan Hain Hum' and he was best known and earned an immense reputation through acting in the blockbuster movie 'Ram Teri Ganga Maili' that was released in 1985. 

Rajiv Kapoor, who was nicknamed as 'Chimpu', has also acted in the movies like Mera Saathi and Hum To Chale Pardes. His last movie was Zimmedaar. He turned as a film producer in 1991 by bankrolling the movie 'Henna' starring Rishi Kapoor. He also directed the movie 'Prem Granth' starred by Rishi Kapoor. He was all set to make a comeback in Bollywood after nearly three decades with Ashutosh Gowariker and Bhushan Kumar's joint production, a sports drama titled 'Toolsidas Junior', co-starring Sanjay Dutt. 

However, he has breathed his last on Tuesday which had shocked the entire Bollywood industry. After the news of his demise headlined, several Bollywood celebrities have been paying their tribute and expressing condolences to the family members of the deceased. Reputed celebrities like Ranbir Kapoor,  Kareena Kapoor, Chunkey Pandey, Sanjay Kapoor, and Neetu Kapoor had arrived at Rajiv Kapoor's residence and paid their tributes.
