Popular Kollywood producer passes away in Chennai due to cardiac arrest!

Popular Kollywood producer K Balu has passed away due to cardiac arrest at a private hospital in Chennai. In what has become a shocking development, the demise of the reputed producer had saddened the fans and fraternities of Kollywood. Balu was known for bankrolling several super hit Tamil movies. 

According to reports, Balu had been hospitalized and he was undergoing treatment for the COVID-19 viral infection at a private hospital in the city. Amid the treatment, he suffered a sudden massive heart attack on January 1st and despite the efforts to save him, Balu had breathed his last in the hospital. 

Balu has left behind the reputation and contribution of producing some of the notable Tamil movies. The movies that he produced include 'Chinna Thambi' starred by Prabhu and Khushbu in 1991, Seeman directorial and Prabhu starred 'Panchalankurichi' in 1996, and he also bankrolled Sarath Kumar starred Janakiraman, which was directed by Sundar C, in 1997. 

Balu has produced the movies under his banner KB films and he had been one of the finest producers in Kollywood. Recently, he was confirmed to have contracted the COVID-19 viral infection and he was taken to a private hospital for further treatments. However, he suffered a cardiac arrest and breathed his last on January 1. 

The reports say that Balu's funeral was conducted in Besant Nagar in Chennai on Saturday and he was cremated at the electronic crematorium.  After the news of his demise broke out, many Kollywood actors and producers have been paying tribute to the departed producer and expressing their condolences to the family of the deceased.  

Actor turned politician Khushbu took to Twitter and said, "Deeply disturbed to hear about the producer of my biggest hit movie #ChinnaThambi is no more with us. He fought his battle with ill health for a long. Just wished he could win it. My heartfelt condolences to his family #RIP #KBalu". Well-known producer Dhananjayan said, "Shocked to hear the news of popular producer K Balu sir's passing away. I am saddened by the demise. Rest in Peace Balu sir". 

Actor turned politician Sarath Kumar took to Twitter and wrote, "Shocked & saddened by the sudden demise of #KBFilms #Balu today. He left too soon & created a void in the film industry. May his soul rest in space. My deepest condolences to his family, friends & my colleagues from the industry."

In his tribute note, director Venkat Prabhu said, "An amazing human being!! miss u uncle!! #kbfilms #balu #rip #chinnathambi my deepest condolences to the family".
