Popular Tamil actor and producer passes away due to COVID-19 in Chennai! Kollywood pays tribute

Popular Tamil actor and producer Venkat Subha has passed away in Chennai due to the COVID-19 viral infection on Saturday at the age of 58. He was getting treated at a private hospital in the city after contracted the novel coronavirus and he breathed his last in the wee hours of Saturday at around 12.48 am. Several celebrities of Kollywood have been paying tributes to the deceased actor and expressed condolences to his family.

Venkat Subha was also known as a writer and according to reports, he was admitted to a private hospital after contracting the COVID-19 pandemic ten days ago. Amid the treatment, his health had worsened post which he was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital. However, his health had attained a setback, and despite the efforts to save him, he had passed away due to the pandemic.

Venkat Subha is popularly known for his performances in Tamil movies like 'Mozhi', 'Kanda Naal Mudhal', and 'Azhagiya Theeye'. He also had appeared in several Tamil TV serials. He was also a YouTube Film reviewer for the channel 'Touring Talkies'. Venkat Subha had been playing a role in the Tamil movie 'Friendship' starred by Harbhajan Singh and Losliya. 

Ever since the news of the demise broke out, several Kollywood stars have paid tribute to Venkat Subha. His close friend and producer T Siva took to Twitter and wrote, "With extreme sadness, I would like to inform everyone that my friend, a great thinker, writer, creator, and actor Venkat left for his heavenly abode at 12.48 am." Reputed director Venkat Prabhu said, "Another very sad news to wake up to. Such a genuine cinema lover, a friend, a brother. You will be truly missed saar. My deepest condolences to the family and friends."

Veteran actress Radikaa Sarathkumar said, "So very saddened to say goodbye to Venkat, his wife Subaa has been associated with me for many years in Radaan. Venkat was a kind, strong thinking person & known him for many years. Subaa fought so strongly for his recovery, heartbreaking to see he lost the fight. Prayers to all." 

Renowned actor Prakash Raj took to Twitter and said, "Ahhh no. Painful...Feeling helpless losing friends n family one by one...life is going to be heavier with their memories... thank you Venkat for being a part of my journey...will miss you. Rest in Peace, my friend." Several celebrities including actor Parthiban and director Seenu Ramasamy had also paid their tributes and extended their condolences to the family of the deceased actor.
