Popular Tamil actor, who rose to fame through this Bala movie, passes away at the age of 72!

Popular Tamil actor Ramaraj has passed away on Monday - July 11 at the age of 72 in Madurai due to age-related ailments. Ramaraj rose to fame through the movie 'Avan Ivan', helmed by Bala, in which he acted as a police officer. He had been getting treated for over a month and after learning about his demise, several Tamil cinema fans and fraternities have been paying tribute to the deceased actor. 

A native of Mudukulathur in the Ramanathapuram district, Ramaraj was a bank employee before entering the cinema industry. He worked as a manager in a cooperative bank and got retired. The movie Avan Ivan was released in the year 2011 and he had enticed the audience with his amusing performance. 

The 72-year-old actor had been obtaining treatment at a private hospital in Madurai for a month due to illness, with his family care and unfortunately, he passed away last night. Following this, the film industry and his fans are mourning the death of actor Ramaraj. 

The actor's body was brought to his hometown Mudukulathur and it was kept for the public to pay homage. Subsequently, the funeral had held on Tuesday - July 12. Avan Ivan was directed by Bala and actors Vishal and Arya had played lead roles in the movie and after the success of Avan Ivan, Kamaraj had acted in several other Tamil films. He was survived by his three sons.
