Prashant Kishor drops a huge hint on what's next...Is he going to launch a new party?

Nearly a week after the drama went wrong with the Congress party that pushed him to decline the offer from the party, prominent political strategist Prashant Kishor has on Monday - May 2 dropped a huge hint of what could be the next move as the nation is heading towards the big election years. The development has come when Congress was expecting Kishor to play a role in reviving the party ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

On Monday, Kishor had turned heads through his remarks that implied he would be launching his own political party. His notion of 'its time to go to the real masters' had thrown more weight behind the speculations that he is all set to lead a political game. Taking to Twitter, he wrote, "My quest to be a meaningful participant in democracy & help shape pro-people policy led to a 10-year rollercoaster ride."

"As I turn the page, time to go to the Real Masters, the People, to better understand the issues & the path to Peoples Good Governance", he added. While the possibility of a new party didn't have a complete denial, the reports say that Kishor has also been mulling joining the opposition outfit and he is considering starting a new journey from his home state of Bihar, where his political affiliations had a preface but didn't run well later.

Kishor had joined Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's party four years ago and he went on to launch the Indian Political Action Committee, which had strategised and campaigned for several leaders including Mamata Banerjee, Arvind Kejriwal, and MK Stalin. Later, he quit Nitish Kumar's party and he also relinquished the leadership of the committee following which he had inclined towards the Congress party. While it was said that Kishor would join the Congress party during the recently-held assembly polls, his induction didn't materialize.

The Congress leadership has set up a forum 'Empowered Action Group' for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls and asked Kishor to lead the forum and to draw a framework supporting the party's revival ahead of the national polls. However, Kishor had last week declined the offer and advised the party that the revival plan can be done through transformational reforms.

He wrote, "I declined the generous offer of Congress to join the party as part of the EAG & take responsibility for the elections. In my humble opinion, more than me the party needs leadership and collective will to fix the deep-rooted structural problems through transformational reforms." However, the sources had said that Kishor was expecting a national role in the party and as in the absence of such bestowment, he had decided not to join the party.

Kishor was in the national spotlight and a week after declining the offer from the Congress party, he has now dropped a hint that he would be floating his own party. He has also planned to tour the state of Bihar and during his travel, he will be meeting the voters across the state. Recently, he had launched an initiative called 'Baat Kishor Ki' to measure the political trend in the state and in the coming days, he will also be meeting the local parties and leaders to give a final touch to his road ahead.
