Is Rajamouli planning another franchise as a global project? Here's what we know

Fans of superstar Mahesh Babu and master filmmaker SS Rajamouli can rejoice, as the two have finally collaborated on a film. Officially titled SSMB29, the pan-Indian film will feature the talents of both. With this film, Mahesh Babu will be seen in a completely new light.

According to latest sources, Mahesh Babu’s character in SSMB29 will be inspired by Lord Hanuman, who is known for his courage, strength and fight against all odds in the jungles. The film will follow the route of Ramayana, but with a unique spin given by Rajamouli. Mahesh Babu will be seen travelling across the world in search of something that will save humanity from a deadly virus.

The film has started the process of pre-production. On Mahesh Babu's birthday, August 9, the film's release date will be announced,, where the movie will be a huge party for his devoted followers. The film will be the most expensive Indian film to date and will be an action movie. The movie will be part of a series with multiple installments; each sequel will have its own plot but will feature the same central character and the movie will begin filming early next year.

The film will be shot in exotic locations such as Africa and Europe, where Mahesh Babu will perform some breathtaking stunts and chase sequences. The film will also have a strong female lead, who will accompany Mahesh Babu on his mission. Reports suggest that Janhvi Kapoor is in talks to play the role.

SSMB29 will be a franchise with multiple parts, where the story and the setting will change, but the central character will remain the same. The film will have more VFX work than Rajamouli’s previous magnum opus RRR and will have a whopping budget of over 500 crores. The film's script is being written by Rajamouli’s father Vijayendra Prasad. The film is expected to go on floors by the end of 2023 and release by 2025 end in multiple languages across the globe.
