Rajinikanth ends his political drama with a major announcement: What's the future of Rajini Makkal Mandram?

Hours after unfolding prospective political U-turn, superstar Rajinikanth has finally concluded the game and affirmed to the secretaries of his outfit and fans that he will not enter politics. Monday's meeting, which was held in Chennai, had also put his outfit Rajini Makkal Mandram, which was once a precursor for his political party, into history.

On Monday, in an unanticipated episode, Rajinikanth had convened a meeting at his Raghavendra Mandapam in Chennai. His meeting with the secretaries has come several months after he has decided not to enter politics. With a vague projection on what would be discussed in the meeting, his decision to meet the secretaries of his outfit has stirred speculations over whether Rajinikanth is taking a U-turn and planning to revive his political interest, thereby sowing an entry into politics.

However, most of the frustrated fans and members of his outfit had lost hope in the actor and had joined various political parties in the state after he closed his political gates. Some of the members had hoped that Rajinikanth will draw confidence from the Tamil Nadu people and would bring a change in the state. They also hoped that the actor would reconsider his decision and plan to make a political entry.

Before arriving at the meeting venue, Rajinikanth had addressed the reporters at his residence during which he said that he will reconsider his decision of not entering politics after discussing with the secretaries of Rajini Makkal Mandram. He claimed that a question of whether he will come to politics in the future is being surfaced and said that he will discuss this with the secretaries. As he sounded to be looking for prospects for political entry, his statement has gone viral on social media.

The actor arrived at Raghavendra Mandapam and he was given a rousing welcome by his fans and members who had gathered there to see him. The meeting was started at around 10 am and went on for more than an hour with massive attention across and beyond the state on Rajinikanth's decision. After the meeting, Rajinikanth has issued a statement in which he ruled out his political entry and affirmed his fans and members that he will not enter politics.

In a major decision, Rajinikanth has said that he is dissolving Rajini Makkal Mandram, the organization of the fan clubs that was seen as a precursor to his political party. What's the future of Rajini Makkal Mandram? Rajinikanth said that the Rajini Makkal Mandram will function as a fan charity forum 'Rajinikanth Rasigar Narpani Mandram' for the benefit of the people. It has been reported that the members of the outfit will be retained in the charity forum. In his statement, he said that there have been many questions on the forum and what it stood for.

He said, "I thought of launching a political party and entering politics. However, the timing was such that it was not possible. I don't have any intentions of involving in politics in the future. I kindly inform you that the Rajini Makkal Mandram will function as a fan charity forum for the benefit of the people." He further stated that the charity forum will function with the secretaries, associates, deputy secretaries, and executive committee members in the Rajini Makkal Mandram.

With his decision, he has put the speculations of political revival into interminable sleep and had tightly sealed his political gates. According to reports, the secretaries and fans who had gathered on the spot and watching the development across the state had carried disappointment for yet another time and several netizens had commented that the actor could have released the statement of ruling out his political entry and dissolving the Rajini Makkal Mandram through social media instead of convening a meeting, that boiled the speculations about his political comeback.

Prior to the meeting, some of the secretaries had said that the actor will discuss his political prospects in the future. However, some of the secretaries have spelt otherwise as they claimed that the actor would brief them in person on why he decided not to enter politics. In the end, Rajinikanth has concluded the drama by reaffirming that politics is no more his cup of tea and he doesn't have any intentions to launch a political party. As he ended his political drama with a major announcement of dissolving his outfit, Monday's meeting has become his last meeting with the secretaries of Rajini Makkal Mandram as his outfit has now gone into history.
