The wait is over for the fans of Ponniyin Selvan 2, the epic sequel to Mani Ratnam's historical blockbuster. The official announcement regarding the release of the much-anticipated PS-2 trailer has been made. The producers have revealed a fiery poster that has got fans even more excited for what's to come. The trailer is expected to be a visual treat with a duration of 3 minutes and 25 seconds, showcasing the grandeur and scale of the film.
Taking to Twitter, Lyca Productions which bankrolls the epic drama wrote,, "Fire in their eyes. Love in their hearts. Blood on their swords. The Cholas will be back to fight for the throne! #PS2TrailerFromMarch29". The shared poster featured the fearless protagonists Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Vikram as Nandhini and Adhitha Karigalan respectively. As per the update, the film's trailer will be grandly dropped on March 29th 2023.
Ponniyin Selvan 2 is slated to hit the screens on April 28th in five languages - Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam and the sequel is expected to break box office records after the first film's success the previous year. The film will continue the saga of Arulmozhi Varman's quest to become Rajaraja I, the greatest ruler of the historic Chola empire of south India.
The film boasts of an ensemble cast that includes Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha Krishnan, Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Ashwin, Mohan Ram, Sarathkumar, Parthiban, Sobhita Dhulipala, Vikram Prabhu and many others. The film also has a stellar technical team with music by AR Rahman, cinematography by Ravi Varman, editing by Sreekar Prasad¹ and art direction by Thota Tharrani. The digital streaming rights of Ponniyin Selvan 2 have been acquired by Amazon Prime Video, and satellite rights to Sun Tv.
