"Remembered for years"!... When PM Modi congratulates the team of 'RRR' and 'The Elephant Whisperers' for Their Oscars Wins!

At a time when India's film industry is gaining recognition on the world stage, the country has added two more Oscars to its trophy cabinet. The 95th Academy Awards, held on March 12, 2023, saw two Indian films, SS Rajamouli's "RRR" and Kartiki Gonsalves's "The Elephant Whisperers," taking home prestigious award in the respective categories. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also extended his congratulations to the filmmakers for their remarkable achievements.

"RRR's Naatu Naatu," a dance sequence from the epic period film "RRR," won the award for Best Original Song, while "The Elephant Whisperers," a documentary showcases the bond between humans and animals and highlights the importance of protecting wildlife was awarded for Best Documentary short film. These wins signify a growing recognition of the Indian film industry's talent and diverse offerings.

In his statement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the filmmakers for their accomplishments, saying, "Exceptional! The popularity of ‘Naatu Naatu’ is global. It will be a song that will be remembered for years to come. Congratulations to @mmkeeravaani, @boselyricist and the entire team for this prestigious honour. India is elated and proud. #Oscars."

Extending his congratulating note for the team behind the exceptional documentary short, The Elephant Whisperers, the PM wrote, "Congratulations to @EarthSpectrum, @guneetm and the entire team of ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ for this honour. Their work wonderfully highlights the importance of sustainable development and living in harmony with nature. #Oscars (sic)."
