RJ Balaji’s ‘Singapore Saloon’ to feature star-studded cameos! Here's what we know

RJ Balaji, who has impressed the audience with his comic timing and acting skills in films like ‘Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’, ‘LKG’, ‘Spyder’ and ‘Mookuthi Amman’, is gearing up for his next film titled ‘Singapore Saloon’. The film, which is written and directed by Gokul of ‘Idharkuthaane Aasaipattai Balakumara’ fame, has RJ Balaji playing a hairstylist with big dreams. The film’s shooting has been wrapped up recently and it is slated to hit the screens in Summer 2023.

Interestingly, Lokesh Kanagaraj will also be seen in a cameo role in ‘Singapore Saloon’, marking his second on-screen appearance after a glimpse in his own directorial ‘Master’. It has been revealed that in the film, Lokesh plays a TV reality show judge, and his scenes are expected to be among the most entertaining of the whole thing.

But that’s not all. The film will also feature another popular actor, Jiiva, who had earlier shared screen space with RJ Balaji in Kavalai Vendam, will be playing a cameo role in ‘Singapore Saloon’, adding more star value to the film.Moreover, there is one more Tamil actor who will be making a special appearance in the film, but the makers have kept it as a secret and will reveal it only on the big screen.

It's worth noting that Lokesh Kanagaraj debuted the film's first look on the pre-match show for the ICC T20 Semifinal, during which RJ Balaji admitted that Kanagaraj had convinced him to make the film and that Balaji had praised him as one of the leading Indian directors to watch in the coming decade.

Thalaivasal Vijay plays the father to the actor, but the female lead, and other cast and crew of 'Singapore Saloon' are kept under the wraps.‘Singapore Saloon’ is produced by Vels Film International and has music by Vishal Chandrasekhar. The film promises to be a comedy drama in Gokul’s style and a coming-of-age story of a young man with aspirations. Fans are eagerly waiting to see RJ Balaji’s transformation as a hair stylist and his chemistry with the star guests in his saloon.
