Roaring moment for the Baahubali and RRR maker...SS Rajamouli bags this prestigious award!

SS Rajamouli, the director who popularized the Pan Indian culture in South films and literally cleaved the film trend as pre and post-Baahubali, has now won the Best Director award from the New York Film Critics Circle (NYFCC) for his remarkable directorial of RRR, which is one of the mega-hit movies of 2022. The movie team shared the news on the social media, which had drawn major attention. 

Taking to Twitter on Saturday, the RRR team wrote, "SS Rajamouli wins the prestigious New York Film Critics Circle Award for the Best Director. Words can't do justice to describe how happy and proud we are...Our heartfelt thanks to the jury for recognizing RRR movie." RRR, the action periodic drama from the visionary director Rajamouli, was released on March 22 and has since amassed a staggering global gross of around 1200 crores, making many in overseas turn heads. 

Diehard fans went crazy over the jaw-dropping special effects and the stellar acting from south biggie stars  Jr. NTR and Ram Charan. After receiving numerous nominations and taking home the Saturn Award in October, the film's success has been further cemented with the "Best Director" award from the New York Film Critics Circle. 

More than 30 film critics from New York-based dailies, weeklies, and periodicals get together every December to hand out awards for the year's best in cinema from all over the world. RRR was also released in Japan and the United States, and it has been submitted for various categories for Oscars next year. RRR, a fictional story based on the lives of Telugu freedom fighters Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem, starring Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgan, and Shriya Saran, has won its first international award. 

RRR is Alia Bhatt's first Telugu movie. MM Keeravani composed the music for the movie and the sequel to the film is officially recently reported. Commending SS Rajamouli for bagging a prestigious award, actor Jr NTR wrote, "Congratulations Jakkanna SS Rajamouli. This is just the beginning of your journey to worldwide glory. It's time for the world to know what I knew about you all along."
