Rohit Sharma is in fire...Hitman's century comes as a savior for India amid 'duck-out' walk show!

Amid the requisite of building a winning momentum against the English visitors to take the lead in the ongoing test series, the Indian batting line-up has been trajecting in the wrong direction after the top batsmen conducted a 'duck out' walk-show with the flawed opening in the second test match that began on Saturday in Chennai. 

India is playing against England and the latter is on the Indian tour for four test matches, five T20s, and three ODIs. The visitors had a splendid opening of the tour after defeating the Virat Kohli-led Indian team in the first test match by 227 runs. 

The first test match was held at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai from February 5 to 9 and England won the first match and took the lead in the series by 1-0. After bracing up the loss, the Indian team was pushed to emerge stronger and the team is in the situation that it needs to win all three test matches to lift the trophy. 

The second test began on Saturday and this time, the stadium was occupied by the fans amid the COVID-19 protocols. Virat Kohli won the toss and chose to bat first following which the Indian batting line-up came to the crease only to disappoint the fans with a shocking opening. 

India's innings was opened by Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill and the bowling line-up of the visitors powered by the spinners and pacers had applied strong brakes on the host and containing Kohli's team from putting a big score on the board. 

Shubman Gill was dismissed for 0 off 3 balls by Olly Stone and following the walk out of a key batsman, experienced hand Cheteshwar Pujara came to the crease to lift the Indian team on the first day of the second test match. However, Jack Leach spoiled Pujara's play after dismissing him for 21 off 58 balls. After the departure of Pujara, India's score was at 85 for 2. Virat Kohli came to crease to join Rohit Sharma. While the team and audiences expected Captain's knock, Virat Kohli has got dismissed for a duck in Gill's way. 

Virat Kohli walked back to the pavilion in what has become a shocking start to Team India. India was at the stage where the team had lost three important wickets for 86 runs on the first day. Ajinkya Rahane came to the field and joined Rohit Sharma and they both have been lifting the team by building a decent partnership and delivering a good score. 

Rohit Sharma has been punishing the English bowlers with his bat as the hitman is slashing the balls in every direction and when the time of writing this content, Rohit Sharma has displayed that he is in fire and unstoppable and has scored a century off 130 balls which has become his seventh Test century and Rahane has been giving the hitman with a decent partnership. Rohit had scored 97 runs while Rahane has put 25 runs from his bat. 

Cricket Commentator Harsha Bhogle said, "India were looking dominant till about 11 am (Saturday). This is already a tricky wicket to bat on which makes Rohit's innings all the more remarkable. I think 300-325 will be a really good score. No more than one wicket in this session from India's perspective". By the time of writing this content, India has scored 153 runs by losing three wickets and amid the 'duck out' walk-show, Rohit - Rahane pair has been displaying excellent batting and it is projected that India would end the first day by putting at least 250 runs on board.
