The family couldn't mobilize funds and they reached out to the state government, which ignored them following which the family appealed to Delhi to clear the bills.

The rumors went on to say that following the appeal, Vice-president Venkaiah Naidu's daughter went to the hospital and cleared the bill after which the hospital had released the body. The rumor had widely circulated across social media with many users had shared and following the shocking development that had come in just 24 hours after the burial of the singer, his son SP Charan had issued a statement in which he denied and dispelled the rumors and made an appeal to the rumormongers.

He released the video on Sunday evening in which he called the rumor as hogwash. He said, "There are rumors about the bill amount that was charged and that we had paid something and that there was a balance and that I had asked the government and that they had not reciprocated and that I had gone to the Vice President and that he had instantly and also that unless we had paid the balance the hospital were not releasing my dad for the last rituals. Let me say something, this is all a big hogwash".

In his statement, he referred to the rumormongers and said, "You don't seem to realize how offensive and hurtful it is to people who are associated with the issue. It is very disheartening that we still have people like this around. These people cannot be fans of SPB because SPB will not do something like this. He is not somebody who hurts people. He is somebody who forgives people and I'd like to say that I forgive this gentleman (rumormonger) but he needs to grow up, get some sense and do the right thing".

By thanking the MGM Hospital where the singer was getting treated,  Charan stated, "We as a family are grateful for everything that MGM Healthcare did for us, for my father as a patient, and for us as a family who was attending and taking care of him. When MGM had reached out to the Apollo Hospitals requesting equipment, they immediately sent it for my dad's treatment. So they are all great people. You (rumormonger) can also be great, try to emulate the greatness.

Charan added that he is not going to give any details now and he and the hospital had planned to hold a press release together to address such rumors in the treatments provided for the legendary singer and the hospital expenses. According to reports, as Charan has said, the MGM Healthcare hospital will be issuing its official statement at around 2.30 pm on Monday in which it would be sharing the details of the treatment provided to SPB and the hospital expenses to ensure that there are no grounds for rumors.
