Salaar, the much-awaited action thriller starring Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran, has finally hit the screens today. The film, directed by Prashanth Neel of KGF fame, is a story of two friends who become enemies in a mythical city called Khansaar. The trailer of the film had already created a huge buzz among the fans, who were eagerly waiting to see Prabhas in his ‘beast mode’ and Prithviraj in his negative role. But did the film live up to the expectations? Here’s what the Twitterati had to say about Salaar.

The majority of the tweets were positive, praising Prabhas for his intense performance, Prithviraj for his menacing presence, and Prashanth Neel for his grand vision. Fans also loved the action sequences, the background score, and the cinematography of the film. One fan wrote, “Salaar is a masterpiece. Prabhas is phenomenal as Deva, the most violent man ever. However, not everyone was impressed with Salaar. Some of the tweets were negative, criticizing the film for being a rip-off of KGF, Saaho, and Ugramm. Salaar has received mixed reviews from the critics as well. Some of them have praised the film for its scale, style, and performances, while others have panned it for its lack of substance, depth, and novelty. The film has also faced a tough competition from Dunki, the Shah Rukh Khan starrer, which has also released yesterday. The box office collections of Salaar will reveal how the film has fared among the masses.

Salaar, which is produced by Hombale Films, is a pan-Indian film that stars Prabhas as Deva, a rebel leader who fights against a tyrannical regime. Prithviraj Sukumaran plays the role of Varadharaja Mannar, a ruthless warlord. The film also features Shruti Haasan, Pramod, Tinu Anand, Jagapathi Babu, Eashwari Rao, Shreya Reddy, Garuda Ram, and Naveen Shankar, among others. Salaar to release on 22nd December, and is made in Telugu and dubbed in Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi.
