Jyotiraditya Scindia has served as Lok Sabha MP of Congress party for four times and he was Union Minister of State- Independent Charge in the Ministry of Power in Manmohan Singh's cabinet. Scindia observed close ties with the Gandhis. Scindia's departure from the Congress party had a huge possibility of toppling and collapsing the Congress ruling Madhya Pradesh government as along with him, 22 MLAs of the Madhya Pradesh assembly including Congress and Independent legislators had tendered their resignations on Tuesday causing deep trouble and tensions for Kamal Nath's government.

The drift and uncertainty on pillaring the rule in Madhya Pradesh were escalated and the revolt was spurred up to form a rebel against the Kamal Nath government. On Tuesday, the rebel came to the revelation after Scindia had a meet with Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. He met the BJP's leadership after signing his resignation letter to Congress Interim President Sonia Gandhi. In his letter, Scindia stated that he is unable to serve the people of his state and country being a member of the Congress party and added that he now looks for the fresh start.

While the meet was held at a closed-door, it carried a national spotlight amid the Corona outbreak and it was anticipated that Scindia would switch his side and dump the Congress rule in the state. In turn to his resignation, the Congress party has claimed that he has been expelled from the party with the immediate effect under the grounds of anti-party activities. After divorcing his ties with Congress, Scindia has packed the MLAs of his faction who resigned to Bengaluru in the BJP ruling state of Karnataka. Their resignations would reduce the majority numbers of Kamal Nath's government to run the state.

The reports say that the MLAs had moved their resignations to Madhya Pradesh Governor and if their resignations were accepted, Kamal Nath's government will become the minority and oust from the power following which BJP would form the new government by keeping Scindia in the epicenter. However, with the view of placating the remaining Congress MLAs, the Congress party had packed its legislators and put on the charter flights on Wednesday and they were taken to Jaipur, in the Congress ruling state of Rajasthan and they have been lodged in the resort as the party's last resort to pacify the remaining MLAs before BJP fishes them and the BJP party has also shipped its MLAs to Gurgaon in the BJP ruling state of Haryana to ensure that they won't support the Congress party.

Scindia's revolt was seeded by the displeasure expressed by him against the Congress party after it declined him to offer the post of Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh after the Congress arose to power in 2018. Despite his close ties with the Gandhis, his elevation was barricaded in the state and along with that, Scindia's faction has strongly vying to get a ticket to the upper house from Madhya Pradesh in the Rajya Sabha elections that will be taking place on March 26th. However, Kamal Nath had decided to elect Priyanka Gandhi from the state to the Upper house of the Parliament following which the long-simmering revolt had now triggered the crisis in the state making the Kamal Nath's government count its days.

Although Kamal Nath attempted to placate Scindia, he took his official letterhead and crafted the reason for resignation, signed the letter and notified the Congress party that its time for him to look for the fresh start and by leaving no space, he boarded his car to meet Home Minister Amit Shah after which the duo drove together to Modi's residence on Tuesday. Everything went well as Scindia expected, Congress expelled him as the party seemingly prepared to expel its own rule in Madhya Pradesh. He has packed his faction to keep his stronghold and now he has joined the BJP as it was the only major direction that Scindia had to sail on.
