Senior TN BJP leader's house attacked: A case is booked against three DMK councillors!

The Tamil Nadu police have booked a case against 13 people, including three DMK councillors, in connection to the brutal attack on the residence of Sasikala Pushpa, the vice president of Tamil Nadu BJP. Her residence in Thoothukudi was vandalized by a mob on Thursday, a day after her controversial speech against DMK Minister Geetha Jeevan. 

In what has become the latest event that aligned to an acute political war between the BJP and DMK, the incident had sparked tensions across the state with the BJP leaders accusing the DMK of instigating the attack. The BJP leaders have shared the visuals of the attack which shown that her residence was heavily damaged, her car was attacked and windows were broken. 

Following the incident that happpened when Sasikala Pushpa was at Nagercoil, several BJP cadres have gathered before her house in Thoothukudi and demanded to apprehend the miscreants. A team of police officers was stationed at the spot while the police had launched a probe and were collecting evidence. Rathinaraj, a BJP functionary in Thoothukudi, lodged a complaint against the attack at the Thoothukudi SIPCOT police station. 

In his complaint, Rathinaraj had claimed that the properties worth Rs 2.50 lakh has been damaged during the attack. Based on his complaint, the police have booked a case against 13 people including three DMK councillors - Esakki Raja, Ravindran and his wife Adirshtamani. The case is being probed by Thoothukudi Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sathyaraj. 

Hours after the attack, Annamalai has accused the local DMK minister Geetha Jeevan of instigating the attack. Taking to Twitter, Annamalai wrote, "Under the instructions of the Minister of Women Empowerment & Social Welfare in the DMK govt, Tmt Geetha Jeevan avl, DMK goons vandalised BJP Tamil Nadu's Vice President Tmt Sasikala Pushpa's house and car today." "Tmt Sasikala Pushpa's only mistake was to question the minister's inability to provide good governance and their corrupt practices", Annamalai added. 

Tamil Nadu BJP leader Karu Nagarajan said that Sasikala Pushpa's house was attacked under the instigation of DMK Minister Geetha Jeevan. He frurther said that based on the instructions from Annamalai, a complaint with his regard has been filed with Tamil Nadu's Director-General of Police Sylendra Babu. Recently, Geetha Jeevan, who is the Minister of Social Welfare and a native of Thoothukudi, came down hard on Annamalai and demanded the BJP leader to stop speaking lies about the ministers.

Geetha Jeevan was speaking at a party's event in Kovilpatti and she further said that if Annamalai refuses to stop attacking the ministers, the DMK leaders will take the stage and hit back. Responding to Geetha Jeevan's speech, BJP leader Sasikala Pushpa voiced against the former in a BJP's event that held on Wednesday in Thoothukudi. Sasikala Pushpa threatened Geetha Jeevan that the DMK minister would lose her legs when she steps out of her house. 

Sasikala Pushpa went on to say that DMK leaders won't have tongue to speak against Annamalai. She further said that Annamalai is working for 24 hours and the DMK cadres won't have any competence to speak about Annamalai. A day after her speech that went viral, Sasikala Pushpa's house was brutally attacked by unidentified people. Sasikala Pushpa was at Nagercoil on Thursday when her residence was attacked and Thoothukudi SIPCOT police arrived at the spot and launched a probe.
