The King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, was in Chennai on Thursday to promote his upcoming film Jawan, directed by Atlee. The event was a star-studded affair, with the presence of Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani, Yogi Babu, and other cast and crew members of the film. But the highlight of the evening was Shah Rukh Khan’s heartfelt tribute to Thalapathy Vijay, who is also his co-star in Jawan, which kept tight lipped for so long.

Shah Rukh Khan revealed that he met Vijay for the first time in Melbourne, where he heard him speaking in Tamil. He said that he was mesmerized by his voice and his charisma. He also said that he attended Nayanthara’s wedding, where he met Vijay again and decided to work with him. He praised Vijay for his acting skills and his humility and said that he learned a lot from him.

“I will take a moment and tell you how much I love Vijay sir. I met him in Melbourne. I heard him talking in Tamil; I assume it was about that instance. And one day we were here, for Nayanthara ji’s wedding, and I finally met him. Then we all decided to work together. I cannot tell you how much I have learned from you,” Shah Rukh Khan said.

He also thanked the fans of Vijay for their love and support and said that he was honored to share the screen with him. He said that Jawan is a tribute to Vijay and his fans and asked them to watch the film in theatres.

Shah Rukh Khan also entertained the audience with his dance moves, his singing skills, and his witty remarks. SRK further made the audience laugh by adding that he can’t even dance like Jawan’s director Atlee. He was seen saying, “I cannot dance like Vijay Thalapathy. I can’t even dance like Atlee. So, please don’t..’'

However he danced with Priyamani on the song One Two Three Four from Chennai Express and sang along with Anirudh Ravichander, the music composer of Jawan. He also expressed his love for Chennai food and joked that he lost his six packs after eating here.

He also appreciated the performances of Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani, Yogi Babu, and others in the film and said that they were amazing actors. He thanked Atlee for directing Jawan and called him a genius and a visionary. He also thanked Nayanthara, who could not attend the event, and said that she was the soul of the film.

He concluded his speech by saying that he was very happy to be in Chennai and to work with such talented people. He said that Jawan is a film that celebrates friendship, love, and patriotism and asked the fans to watch it on September 7.
