The trailer for Pathaan, which stars Shah Rukh Khan in his return to the film industry after a five-year absence, was released today. Thalapathy Vijay, in an unexpected surprise of events, released the film's Tamil trailer on his social media account. Pathaan is scheduled to be released in India on January 25, 2023 on the occasion of Indian Republic Day. It's worth noting that Thalapathy Vijay plays a cameo role in Shah Rukh Khan's next Jawan directed by Atlee and is expected to be released in June 2023.

Taking to Twitter on Tuesday, actor Vijay unveiled the racy spy actioner Pathaan's trailer, as he wrote, "Wishing @iamsrk sir and the team all the best for #Pathaan Here is the trailer #PathaanTrailer". The YRF Tamil banner, sharing the trailer on YouTube, where the caption reads, "Meendum varaan Pathaan! Watch Pathaan Trailer in Tamil. Celebrate Pathaan with YRF50 only at a big screen near you on 25th January. Releasing in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu."

The two and half minute trailer is an non-stop pouring of action elements, and promising a seat edge worthy tale around the two icons Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham. The trailer seemingly features John Abraham as a bad guy who enforces a terrorising attacks for India, where Shah Rukh Khan enters the scene who plays the titular role Pathaan, an exiled RAW field operative along with Deepika Padukone, shoulders the duty to call off the major bad operation, set by the evil villain against the nation.

Directed by Siddharth Anand, Satchith Paulose handles the cinematography, where Vishal and Sheykhar composed the music, and Aarif Sheikh taken care of editing. Salman Khan reprises his role as Tiger in an extended cameo appearance in Pathaan, the fourth movie in the YRF Spy Universe that Aditya Chopra is bankrolling under the Yash Raj Films banner. While the Tamil trailer has been launched by Vijay, RRR actor Ram Charan unveiled the Telugu trailer of the film. Fans are surprised by the unexpected unveiling of trailer by the actor, and they took a memory lane, where Vijay's Beast trailer was launched by Shah Rukh Khan.
