Shocker from UP: A stray dog eats the dead body of a girl! See what happened

In an appalling development that captured the dreadful state of hospitals in Uttar Pradesh and the laxity over taking care of the patients, a dead body that was kept unattended at a government hospital in the BJP ruling state was nibbled by a stray dog.

According to reports, 17-year-old girl Rinki was traveling with her brother Pawan Kumar on a motorbike on Wednesday and they had met with an accident after their motorbike collided with a truck. Following the accident, they were rushed to the district government hospital in Sambhal, and Rinki was declared brought dead while Pawan Kumar was taken to another hospital for further treatments in a critical condition.

Rinki's body was kept in the government hospital in Sambhal. Her father Charan Singh said that he had seen a stray dog feeding on her body when it was lying unattended. Charan further accused the hospital administration of being negligent in taking care of the body. By alleging that the body was lying unattended for 1.5 hours, Charan said that he would approach the police against the hospital administration for its negligence of taking care of the body.

As the incident had shocked the state and nation stirring debates over the state of the government hospitals in the BJP ruling state, the visuals of the incident have been getting widely shared on social media, and Samajwadi Party had also shared the visuals on Thursday and many had flayed the hospital administration over its laxity in treating and handling the patients.

After the issue caught wider attention, the hospital administration had made claims to slip away from taking responsibility. The Chief Medical Superintendent of the hospital said that the incident had happened due to the presence of several stray dogs on the hospital premises. The medical superintendent had blamed the local municipal corporation that he had written to the corporation multiple times to take action in removing the dogs from the hospital. However, the corporation had failed to take action.

The superintendent went on to blame the victim's father that the incident had happened after the body was handed over to the family and the body was left unattended as Charan Singh had gone to the washroom. However, according to reports, a hospital official said that they had probed the matter and after the investigation, they found that the sweeper and the ward boy were responsible for the incident.

The sweeper and the ward boy were immediately suspended and the explanation concerning the matter was sought from the doctor on the duty and a committee has been formed for a detailed investigation. Similarly, a family in Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh district had alleged that their newborn daughter died in a hospital due to negligence. The family claimed that the child's body had animal bites and it was possibly caused by rats, which had nibbled the body.
