In a shocking development, popular actor and Bigg Boss Kannada contestant Jayashree Ramaiah was found dead at an old age home in Bengaluru in the morning hours of Monday. 

According to reports, Jayashree was residing at the Sandhya Kirana, an old age home, located in Janapriya Township where her body was found on Monday. She has died by committing suicide. Bengaluru police said that the actor was found hanging in a room at the old age home and her body was recovered and sent for autopsy. Following the development, the police had launched a probe into her death. 

The reports say that she could have ended her life due to depression. She was in incessant depression and she made a shocking post on Facebook last year. In July 2020, Jayashree shared a post on her Facebook account saying, "I quit. Goodbye to this world and depression". However, moments after her post, she had deleted the post and wrote, "I'm alright and safe!! Love you all". 

Jayashree was a contestant of Bigg Boss Kannada Season 3. She made her acting debut with the 2017 movie Uppu Kuli Khara, which had Malasri in the lead role. The film was directed by Imran Sardhariya. She also acted in a movie titled Black, which was directed by Mahendra. The deceased actor was scheduled to act in the Kannada movie 'Olledallappo'. However, the film didn't get released. 

According to reports, Jayashree's friend, who spoke to the local media, said that Jayashree had isolated herself from her family and friends over the last few months and had stopped responding to their calls and messages. The reports say that Jayashree didn't get a lot of work opportunities after participating in the reality show. She was unhappy about the lack of opportunities and had complained about it to her friends. 

On Monday, Jayashree had stopped responding to message and phone calls from family and friends following which some of them had contacted the old age home, and when the staff at the old age home checked in her room, she was found hanging. Her body was recovered and sent for the postmortem. A case has been registered with Madanayakanahalli Police station of Bengaluru and police had launched a probe.
