Four days after the Tamil Nadu assembly polls, the ruling ADMK has expelled a sitting MLA and six others from the party under the grounds of anti-party activities. According to reports, Sathya Panneerselvam, who is the sitting ADMK MLA of Panruti in the Cuddalore district has been expelled from the party on Saturday. Along with her, five other ADMK members were also ousted from the party. Sathya Panneerselvam was also serving as the ADMK's Women wing secretary of the Cuddalore east party district.

In a statement, the ADMK leaders said that Sathya Panneerselvam and five others were removed from the basic membership of the party. Five other members include former Panruti municipal chairman Panneerselvam, Perumal, Martin Louis, Soundar, and Ram Kumar.

The leaders said that they had worked against the ADMK candidate in the assembly polls and in favor of the candidate of the rival party.
