Siva Shankar Baba vs CBCID...The accused godman flees from the hospital: Has he left the country?

Self-styled godman Siva Shankar Baba has fled from the Dehradun hospital in Uttarakhand to evade the arrest by the special CBCID team from Tamil Nadu in connection to the series of sexual harassment allegations that were levelled against him by the former and current students of Sushil Hari International School, the institution that he founded, in Kelambakkam in the outskirts of Chennai.

The crime branch team has been intensifying the search to nab the 73-year-old fugitive. According to reports, Siva Shankar Baba has been under the drone of the law enforcement agency when the allegations against him had come to light. He has been accused of sexually harassing and intimidating the students of the school under the guise of branding himself as Lord Krishna. The shocking allegations have come to light in line with similar testimonies made by scores of students of prestigious schools in Chennai.

The allegations against whom the students and parents thought to be a saint and light of the future had immensely shocked the state and beyond after he turned the future of the students dark. Several students have reached out to the media and placed their testimonies and trauma they went through inside Baba's circle. Each testimony was in a kind of stunner as the students said that he would force them to see porn, drinking alcohol, and have sex with them.

Siva Shankar would convince a girl that he is Lord Krishna and she should consider herself as 'Gopika' in previous birth. He would then possess the girl to have sex with him and besides teaching them about different sexual methods, the godman would preach to the students about the importance of having sex with him, and his obnoxious behaviour under the godman avatar was said to have continued for two decades.

With several shocking allegations on the floor against Siva Sankar, the Tamil Nadu police have swung into action, and based on the allegations, the Chengalpattu police had registered multiple FIRs against the godman. The police say that three separate FIRs have been filed in the All Women's Police Station in Mamallapuram and a police offer in the rank of DSP has been appointed as the Investigating Officer in the case.

While the police had invoked a case against him under the POCSO Act, the Tamil Nadu government has on Sunday transferred the case to CBCID (Crime Branch- Crime Investigation Department) with the reports that the godman has been residing out of Tamil Nadu. During the investigation, the school management has claimed that Siva Shankar Baba has been suffering from heart ailments and he has been getting treated at a hospital in Dehradun, Uttarakhand since June 9.

Based on the claim that the godman is in Uttarakhand, the government has transferred the case of CBCID as the probe is extending to another state. SP Vijayakumar has been leading the CBCID probe and with the claim that the godman is in Uttarakhand, the reports say that the special team of CBCID under DSP Gunavarman has rushed to Dehradun on Tuesday to arrest Siva Shankar Baba.

When the officials had reached the hospital in the morning hours of Wednesday, they found that the godman has already fled from there to evade the arrest. The probing team has decided to conduct the searches at his Ashrams in Uttarakhand and nearby states in the angle that he could be using them as a safe haven. The CBCID team is also taking measures to barricade Siva Shankar Baba's evasion to Nepal, where he has more devotees. The latest reports say that there are chances that the godman could have fled to Nepal through road and found a shelter in the neighbouring country.

It must be noted that the CBCID team has on Tuesday issued a lookout notice against the godman to ensure that he won't leave the country. The Lookout notice, also called as Lookout circular (LOC), is issued against the fugitives and criminals wanted by the Indian police. The LOC would have identification parameters of criminals and help the police to nab and stop them from crossing the borders, either by air or by any other means. As the notice has been issued against Siva Sankar Baba, the probing team is affirmed that he can't be able to leave the country and the team is inching closer to arrest him.
