The much-awaited film Ayalaan, starring Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role, has finally released today in close to 550 theatres across Tamil Nadu. This is a record release for a Sivakarthikeyan movie in TN. The film, directed by R Ravikumar of Indru Netru Nalai fame, is an sci-fi entertainer that revolves around a young farmer who gets entangled in a series of events after mysterious non human friend make a visit.

Sivakarthikeyan took to X, and penned a heartfelt note on the film's release after years of roadblocks, he wrote, "Every successful person has a painful story.. Every painful story has a successful ending.. The film has received positive reviews from the critics and the audience alike. The film has been praised for the unique take from the actor and the plot's crisp VFX works. The film has also been appreciated for its social message along with presenting family entertaining elements. The film buffs have taken to social media to express their love and admiration for the actor and the film.

‘Ayalaan’ is one of the most anticipated films of the year, as it marks the first collaboration between Sivakarthikeyan and AR Rahman, who has composed the music for the film. The film also boasts of a stellar cast that includes Rakul Preet Singh, Karunakaran, Yogi Babu, Sharad Kelkar, Isha Koppikar, David Broughton-Davies, Banupriya, Balasaravanan, Kothandam, and Rahul Madhav.

The film has cinematography by Nirav Shah, editing by Ruben, production design by T Muthuraj, and stunt choreography by Anbariv. The film is produced by KJR Studios, with Ezhumalaiyan. T as the executive producer.
