Sivakarthikeyan, the rising star of Tamil cinema, is all set to thrill his fans with his upcoming action flick ‘Maaveeran’. The film, directed by National Award-winner Madonne Ashwin of ‘Mandela’ fame, has wrapped up its shoot and is in the final stages of post-production.

The makers have on Friday announced that the film will release on July 14th, much sooner and bigger than the earlier planned date of August 11th. The film’s release date was preponed to avoid a clash with superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailer’, which is slated to release on August 10th.

The makers of ‘Jailer’ surprised everyone with an interesting glimpse of the film and its release date announcement. This put the makers of ‘Maaveeran’ for a change of plans as they did not want to compete with the Superstar at the box office. Sivakarthikeyan, who is an ardent fan of Rajinikanth and a good friend of ‘Jailer’ director Nelson Dilipkumar, also agreed to advance his film’s release to July.

‘Maaveeran’ is reported to be an action thriller with a political backdrop. The film features Sivakarthikeyan and Aditi Shankar, the daughter of director Shankar, in the lead roles. The film also has Yogi Babu, Mysskin and others in supporting roles, which  is produced by Shanthi Talkies

The music for the film is composed by Bharath Shankar, who has delivered a chartbuster single ‘Scene Ah Scene Ah’. The film’s teaser, which was released earlier has received a positive response from the audience and has raised the expectations for the film.
