The much-awaited film Maaveeran, starring Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role, has finally released today in close to 550 theatres across Tamil Nadu. This is a record release for a Sivakarthikeyan movie in TN. The film, directed by Madonne Ashwin of Mandela fame, is an action thriller that revolves around a cartoonist who gets entangled in a mysterious conspiracy.

The film also stars Aditi Shankar, Mysskin, Yogi Babu, Saritha, Sunil, Monisha Blessy, Vijay Sethupathi and Ravi Teja in pivotal roles. The music is composed by Bharath Sankar, while the cinematography is done by Vidhu Ayyanna and the editing by Philomin Raj. The film is produced by Arun Viswa of Shanthi Talkies.
