Sourav Ganguly is admitted to hospital in Kolkata: What happened?

In a shocking development, veteran Indian cricketer and sitting BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has been hospitalized on Saturday in Kolkata after he complained of chest pain. He has been admitted to the emergency ward and many leaders and cricketers have been sending their wishes to the legendary cricketer for a speedy recovery.  

According to reports, Ganguly had complained of chest pain following a workout session on Friday evening and his family members took him to Woodlands Multispecialty Hospital in Kolkata and the veteran cricketer was admitted to the emergency ward and the hospital said he is doing stable. 

Ganguly had suffered from chest pain and dizziness after he had returned from the gym and he developed severe pain following which he was rushed to the hospital. The 48-year-old former Indian captain is in the emergency ward and he may require an angioplasty by Saturday evening. 

The reports say that Ganguly is stable now and the hospital is checking whether this pain has been caused to the cardiac problem and the cricketer will be undergoing several tests. The BCCI Chief had developed chest pain while doing a treadmill at his home gym and he was taken to the hospital at around 1 pm on Saturday. 

Many leaders and cricketers have been extending their wishes to Ganguly to get a speedy recovery. Taking to Twitter, West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar said, "Wishing a speedy recovery for @SGanguly99 who suffered a heart attack. Gathered from CEO Woodlands Hospital that he is stable." Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said, "Sad to hear that @SGanguly99 suffered a mild cardiac arrest and has been admitted to hospital. Wishing him a speedy and full recovery. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family!"

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah took to Twitter and wrote, "I wish and pray for the speedy recovery of @SGanguly99. I’ve spoken to his family. Dada is stable and is responding well to the treatment". Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag said, "Dada, jaldi se theek hone ka. Praying for your quick and speedy recovery @SGanguly99". 

Indian skipper Virat Kohli said, "Praying for your speedy recovery. Get well soon". Shikhar Dhawan wrote, "Praying for your speedy recovery Dada @SGanguly99. Get well soon". Harbhajan Singh said, "Dada @SGanguly99. Get well soon" and Ashwin said, "Praying for Dada's speedy recovery".
