Sridevi's life to turn into a book! Producer Boney Kapoor announces the relishing update...

A biography of late veteran actress Sridevi, titled "The Life of a Legend" will be published by the end of the year. Film producer Boney Kapoor, her husband, announced the book launch in a social media post. According to the publishers, the book is a 360-degree portrayal of Sridevi that will bring back the icon to its readers. The book will reportedly be written by Dhiraj Kumar and published by Westland Books.

Taking to Twitter Boney Kapoor shared the exciting news, "We are thrilled to announce that we will be publishing @AuthorDhiraj’s definitive biography of Sridevi—an iconic superstar and true legend. Out in 2023!", the retweeted post read. Titled Sridevi - The Life of a Legend, the book draws a complete portrait of the actress, the quintessential star who had an unmatched career in Indian cinema. In her career, spanning over five decades, the renowned actress had worked in over 300 films in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. She was conferred the Padma Shri, the National Film Award, several Filmfare awards, State Government awards and International Awards.

"Sridevi was a force of nature. She was the happiest when she shared her art on screen with her fans but she was also a fiercely private person. Dhiraj Kumar is someone she considered family. He is a researcher, writer and columnist. We are happy that he is writing a book that befits her extraordinary life," filmmaker Boney Kapoor, the late actress's husband, said.

Dhiraj Kumar on authoring the book, says, "I am delighted that the venerable Westland Books will be publishing my debut book. My literary agent, Anish Chandy made this happen. I am thankful for the permission and support of Boney Kapoor and his family, Latha and Sanjay Ramaswamy, Suryakala, Maheshwari and Karthik, Reena and Sandeep Marwah,"

Sanghamitra Biswas, executive editor of Westland Books says, "What attracted us to this book was the wealth of research behind it. Dhiraj Kumar's friendship with Sridevi and her family enables him to offer a unique insight into the inner world of the very private star. This book will make readers rediscover an icon," 

Sridevi was posthumously honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke award for her performance in the 2017 film "Mom." In 1996, she wed Boney Kapoor, and the couple has two children, Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor. The entire film industry was stunned by her unfortunate death and still stays as a mystery since she was reported after drowned in a hotel bathtub in Dubai in 2018 after tripping over the shower curtain.
