SS Rajamouli's magnum opus 'RRR' is doing wonders at box office: The movie creates a huge history!

Prominent director SS Rajamouli's magnum opus 'RRR' has been doing wonders at the box office worldwide as the movie is getting closer to breaching its total budget within a week of its release. It has hit the big screens on March 25 with enormous expectations and since the release, RRR is surfaced with positive reviews and has become another feather in Rajamouli's cap after Baahubali. 

Though the movie's running time has caused a setback, it didn't affect the gross as the coffers are being rained by revenue from across and beyond the borders. RRR has been a pan Indian movie that has got released in five languages - Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. The movie has invited a huge success and stupendous reviews.

Besides the commercial success, Rajamouli has positioned himself as an inevitable Indian director for his magnificent film-making and balancing the actors. Bankrolled by DVV Danayya under the banner of DVV Entertainment, RRR was made at a budget of a whopping Rs 550 crore, making it the biggest Indian movie post-Covid-19 pandemic. 

After episodes of deferment of release, RRR has hit the screens on March 25 and within three days of its release, it has been reported that the movie has grossed over Rs 500 crore worldwide at the box office. On the first day, RRR has earned Rs 240 crore as per the official data from the movie team. With Rs 240 crore worldwide on its first day, RRR broke the record for the highest opening-day collection earned by an Indian film.

In what has become a huge history, RRR will also be counting the coffers as, during its release, no major movie had hit the screens, making RRR the sole dominator of the week. Some reports suggest that RRR has earned around Rs 485 crore worldwide during the weekend 25-27 March 2022 and it has become the second-biggest opening weekend for an Indian film after Baahubali 2. 

While SS Rajamouli helmed the movie, Junior NTR and Ram Charan played lead roles and Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, and Olivia Morris have played important roles. The music was composed by MM Keeravani while Sreekar Prasad and Senthil Kumar had done editing and cinematography respectively. According to the movie trackers, RRR has grossed Rs 565 crore in four days.
