Superstar Rajinikanth's surprise gift to director Siva has become the talk of the town as the meeting between the duo put the fans in agog and it has been going viral on social media. The Superstar took Siva and his entire family to surprise through the gift that he presented for the success of the movie 'Annaatthe', which was helmed by Siva.

Though Annaatthe had drawn mixed reactions, it has been doing well commercially across and beyond the borders. As the movie has been successful, Rajinikanth had on Thursday paid a surprise visit to director Siva's residence. When Siva came to know that the superstar has come as surprise, he and his family were excited and welcomed him. The reports say that Rajinikanth had spent over three hours at Siva's residence during which they had discussed Annaatthe.

To more surprise for Siva, Rajinikanth had gifted him a gold chain, which is an unprecedented fashion from the superstar, for the movie's success. Annaatthe had hit the big screens during the Diwali occasion and while the reviews were mixed with fans suggesting the movie was not good, it has been doing well at the box office. Though the movie was released on the OTT recently, it still runs in theatres.

Being dubbed as a blockbuster, Annaatthe has been running in theatres of Chennai and other parts of Tamil Nadu and has become one of the biggest movies of 2021. It has been reported that Annaatthe had grossed Rs 70.19 crores worldwide on the first day including 34.92 crores in Tamil Nadu on the first day. By breaking the record of Vijay's Sarkar, Annaatthe has become the highest-grossing film at the Tamil Nadu box office on the first day.

Overall, the movie has grossed over Rs 240 crore at the global box office of which 150 crore was recorded in Tamil Nadu alone, making the movie a blockbuster. Annaatthe was bankrolled by Kalanthi Maran under his own banner Sun Pictures and directed by Siva. While Rajinikanth had played the lead role, Khushbu, Meena, Nayanthara, Keerthy Suresh, Jagapathi Babu, Soori, Prakash Raj, Sathish, Sathyan, and Vela Ramamoorthy had played important roles and national award-winning composer D Imman has composed the music.
