Surprise call from Superstar Rajinikanth...Director Vignesh Shivan is on cloud nine!

The 44th chess Olympiad has been getting featured this year in Chennai and has become the talk of the town. The city is all about ingraining the event and celebrating the great honour. To make the event even more special, director Vignesh Shivan and the legendary A R Rahman have come together to produce what has become a mind-blowing opening ceremony. 

The filmmaker recently shared the BTS of the chess anthem featuring Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and A. R Rahman. The man behind the event has been flooded with commendations for his work. But Vignesh Shivan is feeling more privileged when Superstar pats his back for his splendid job in the event's inaugural.

On Friday, taking to Twitter, Vignesh Shivan wrote, "An event to remember. thank U superstar @rajinikanth sir for the appreciation in person during the event & the phone call immediately after the event. Was the Happiest to hear ur voice & compliments abt the Olympiad event! U being there made the day even more beautiful". 

Earlier, scores of celebrities like Karthi, Harish Kalyan, Gautham Karthik, and Brinda Gopal, who choreographed the dance for the anthem, have heaped praise on Vignesh Shivan for his grand directorial in the international event. On the work front, Vignesh Shivan has several projects in his pipeline including directing actor Ajith and his wife - the lady superstar Nayanthara, in his next project tentatively titled, AK62, His wedding docudrama, to be unveiled on Netflix, was directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon and it is the first time in the Indian Cinema that a wedding ceremony would be telecasted on the OTT platform.
